How to customise bags, luggage and travel accessories

In today’s competitive market, brand visibility is more important than ever. Customising your travel essentials, including bags, luggage, and accessories, is a powerful way to enhance brand recognition, foster customer loyalty, and create a lasting impression. Whether you're providing corporate gifts, team merchandise, or promotional giveaways, customised products serve as effective marketing tools that reinforce your brand identity every time they are used.

At TravelSupplies, we offer a diverse range of customisation options to suit different branding needs and material types. From classic screen printing and embroidery to advanced UV printing and hot stamping, we ensure your logo is displayed in the most impactful and durable manner. Our expertise in customisation allows us to provide high-quality branding solutions that align with your business objectives. Here are some of the customisation methods we use:

1. Silk Screen Printing

Screen printing, also known as silkscreen printing, is a popular and versatile method suitable for various fabric materials, including cotton canvas, polyester, and non-woven fabrics. This technique involves creating a stencil (screen) and applying ink through it onto the product's surface. Silk screen printing is a straightforward, cost-effective method with excellent output, making it one of the top choices for printing customised bags in large volumes.

2. Hot Stamping

Hot stamping, also known as foil stamping or embossing, is a type of relief printing where inks or foils are transferred or stamped on a surface using high temperatures. This method is best suited for gold, silver, or foil-coloured designs used on leather and PU materials. It adds an elegant and luxurious touch to your branded items.

3. Heat Transfer

Heat transfer uses pressure and heat to apply designs onto bags through heat-applied materials or heat transfer paper. The design is printed onto transfer paper, then thermally transferred from the paper to the bag fabric using heat and pressure. If you are looking to print vivid, colorful designs with photograph-like accuracy, then heat transfer is the way to go.

4. Sublimation

Sublimation printing, also known as dye sublimation printing, is a printing technique that involves applying a heat press to a special sublimation paper that has been printed with special solidified inks. When heated, these solidified inks vaporise into a gas, allowing it to bond with the material. It produces vibrant, full-colour prints that are very durable. This method is primarily suitable for polyester fabrics.

5. DTG Printing

Direct to garment printing, or DTG for short, is a modern method where ink is directly printed onto the fabric using advanced inkjet technology. It allows for high-resolution prints with unlimited color variations. Designs should be opaque as DTG printing isn’t optimal for transparent images.

6. UV Printing

UV printing is a cutting-edge technique that uses ultraviolet light to cure specially formulated inks onto the surface of various materials. This method provides high-definition, full-color prints on non-porous surfaces such as metal and plastic.

7. Embroidery

Embroidery adds a touch of sophistication by stitching your logo directly onto the product using threads. This technique offers a textured and premium appearance. However. it may not capture intricate designs as precisely as printing methods.

8. Attaching Metal or Plastic Plates

You can engrave or print your design onto a small metal or plastic plate, and attach it to the bag.

9. Debossing and Embossing

Debossing and embossing involve creating a recessed (debossed) or raised (embossed) impression of your logo on the product's surface. These techniques add a subtle and elegant touch to your branding.

10. Using Accessories

Keychains, charms, tags, and straps can be customised as well with your company’s brand name and logo, adding to the unique qualities and making the product truly one-of-a-kind.
